AITAD CEO Gromov
“The race has not yet been decided”

Offenburg, March 12, 2024
In an interview with Markt & Technik, AITAD CEO Viacheslav Gromov talks about expectations in 2024, the regulation of artificial intelligence, the use of embedded AI in companies, the spirit of innovation in the German economy, current examples from industry, automotive, medicine or aviation with a clear focus on the future, bottlenecks in semiconductors, complex applications on small chips, generative AI and the difference to embedded AI, artificial intelligence in 2030 and the question: Is it clear to companies when and how they should use embedded AI, or do you sense a certain reluctance? What role does the discussion about the regulation of AI play in this?
Our experience is that our still very young – yet robust – technology is still only known to a few companies. If a company uses AI, it is usually in the area of cloud and edge AI – but this is usually accompanied by a high level of dependency on large players, a secure network and limited data rates. The ongoing regulatory uncertainty in the EU in particular has not contributed to acceptance.
For this reason, we advise companies on the use of AI, as there is usually no idea of how AI could solve problems, let alone how to turn them into a business case. We often discover one or two “hidden needs” during this process. The idea that AI or, more specifically, machine learning can be transplanted everywhere as “little brains” in cars, machines and household appliances is only just beginning to take hold.
