Embedded AI
Technology representative of the state visits AITAD and is enthusiastic about embedded AI

Offenburg, February 19, 2024
Baden-Württemberg’s technology representative Katharina Hölzle visits AITAD, the Offenburg-based specialist for embedded AI.
Hölzle, who is also the director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering and Organization and a professor of technology management and ergonomics at the University of Stuttgart, was impressed by the company’s innovative work.
Revolutionary technology with a wide range of applications
AITAD CEO Viacheslav Gromov gave Hölzle and her team an insight into the development and production of embedded AI systems. This technology makes it possible to integrate AI solutions directly into products such as toothbrushes, showers and washing machines – without the cloud and large data centers.
“Embedded AI has considerable potential to transform industries and to shape the interaction between humans and technology,” said Hölzle. ”The areas of application are diverse: there are possible uses in almost all industries, whether medical technology, mechanical engineering, household appliances, automotive, aerospace or aviation.”
Advantages of embedded AI:
- Resource-efficient: Since the AI works directly in the product, the energy-intensive transfer of data to the cloud is no longer necessary.
- Faster and more precise: Local processing enables faster response and more precise results.
- Data security: The data remains with the user and is protected from unauthorized access.
Baden-Württemberg as a strong location for AI
Hölzle and Gromov also discussed the transformation of Baden-Württemberg as a business location. “Our federal state has all the prerequisites to become a leading center for AI development,” said Hölzle. “We have excellent research institutions, a strong IT industry and a vibrant startup ecosystem.”
AITAD – a pioneer in embedded AI
AITAD, founded in 2018, specializes in the development and production of embedded AI systems. The company is currently based in Offenburg and employs around 30 people.
Conclusion
Katharina Hölzle’s visit to AITAD underscores the importance of embedded AI for the future of the economy. Baden-Württemberg has the potential to play a leading role in this field.
