Monitor and control manufacturing processes more efficiently with embedded AI

  • Embedded AI in access control systems recognizes employee faces and automatically assigns usage rights such as operation, maintenance or programming. Since no faces are stored, the AI works in compliance with data protection regulations by using biometric patterns for identification and differentiation instead.
  • Embedded AI can control machines via gestures. This can be useful in particularly noisy or dirty environments, or when manual control is not possible or too dangerous.
  • Monitoring wear parts in gearboxes using embedded AI enables early failure predictions. On this basis, repair and maintenance processes can be planned more efficiently and machine availability increased.
  • Other areas of application for embedded AI in mechanical engineering and manufacturing include automated quality control of components or the recognition of different parts and sizes for sorting systems. In vertical and horizontal drilling processes, the rock can be automatically recognized, allowing the drilling speed and drilling material to be better adapted. In addition, when liquid and solid materials are transported, the flow can be controlled and quantities calculated. It is also possible to distinguish between liquids and solids based on the flow noise.
  • In injection molding production, heating elements can be automatically monitored and controlled. And in plant and valve construction, embedded AI optimizes cavitation detection.
