Let’s turn AI into a blessing – Autonomous Driving

Our main technology is founded on a patent filing and should ensure the security of AI-systems in an ethical and legal sense through artificial neuronal networks (ANNs). Such hierarchical AI hybrid systems are based on the abstraction of situations using preprocessed data from sensor fusion and other sensors (including tire condition, fatigue, etc.) as well as the localization algorithms and the HD map. Depending on the system, additional, independent (vision) sensors are required. The preprocessed data plays an important role (hierarchy of software layers) for a faster decision. Components of the system include a unit for segment and safety assessment of the environment as well as a basic scenario catalogue. Explicit challenges (such as harm reduction) are also considered, among others using semantic pixelwise segmentation by ANNs or an IMU-based prediction standard unit. Owing to our experience and our global contacts, we are very successful in that field. We are cooperating with the institute „SOCAI“ of the University of Würzburg among others.

New opportunities for the industry – Edge-AI

Through our experience in AI and a lot of interest on behalf of important companies, we are also specialising on embedding machine learning in production processes or systems. Everything is possible – brainstorming specifications or the whole development process for example. Our focus is on Embedded- or Edge-AI, i.e. local solutions of machine learning on microcontrollers and application processors, GPUs and FPGAs. The areas range from well-known buzzwords such as predictive maintenance (such as prediction of motor failure based on ultrasonic vibrations) to new functionalities such as keyword-spotting, 3D-gesture-control, (hardware accelerated) object recognition, and millimeter-wave radar processing. Possible prerequisites such as system architecture, networking and human-machine-interface (HMI) are also considered. This way we can reduce time and costs in production and improve the products of our customers with new functions. We are already working together with regional, medium-sized companies in this field.
